Independence Park is an excellent neighborhood park located in Newark. It has 12.69 acres of parkland. The Olmsted designed park serves the neighborhood with basketball courts, athletic fields, a playground, and walking paths. Independence Park has Olmsted designed landscape, senior citizen center, bocce courts, basketball courts, soccer field, and hockey rink. The park has three official soccer groups in the Ironbound, representing over 750 players and 42 teams.
