Independence Park

69 acres of parkland. Designed by Olmsted, the park offers a range of amenities to serve the community, including basketball courts, athletic fields, playgrounds, and walking paths. With its Olmsted-designed landscape, Independence Park also features a senior citizen center, bocce courts, basketball courts, a soccer field, and a hockey rink. Notably, the park is home to three official soccer groups in the Ironbound area, boasting a total of over 750 players and 42 teams. For the enjoyment of both children and adults, the park provides swings, soccer balls, frisbees, and playgrounds. It also offers separate jogging trails and walking paths within its premises. Adjacent to the park, an ice cream truck can be found, providing a delightful treat for visitors to savor on warm summer days.
