My husband and I have been in the general contracting business for 12 years together. We specialize in high performance homes, which includes passive solar designs. We have built two of Sun Plans designs. Our customers absolutely love them. They are extremely efficient. The sun room is by far the most favorite room. A short story, one of our customers came to us with a plan they had drawn up. They were not excited about it. I felt that was not good. So we gave them our Sun Plan book and they finally decided on one they felt was close to what they wanted. I contacted Debbie and we went through the process of making the changes. It was so smooth and easy, plus very reasonable to accomplish. They are so happy with their home. We love Sun Plans and are so grateful for the source of passive solar homes! We will be building our third Sun Plan home this year.

A few years ago my wife and I decided to build a custom passive solar house. A quick Google search on internet has connected us with architect Debbie from Sun Plans that specializes in such designs. Thank you Google! It was such a great experience to work with Debbie - she was able to take all or our ideas and requirements and design a lovely, sun-inspired home. We've build our house 4 years ago according to Debbie's plans and still enjoy every single day in it. It's worth mentioning that we live in Chicago area (yes..cold and long winters) and we've put the house to test last year when it was a record -43F outside with the wind chill. With the heat turned off inside the house, on that Sunny, cold day, the temperature inside the house dropped from 73F at 8AM dropped only to 70F at 4.30PM. In the standard house, the water pipes would be already frozen. Good job Debbie.
