Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate in he quickly went into practice in Dunn, North Carolina. He is a member of NOSSCR (2012–2015), the National Trial Lawyers Association (2005–2015), the American Bar Association (1988–2010), the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (1983–2014), and the American Association for Justice (1982–2014).
