Ruth's Chris Steak House is owned by Ruth Fertel, who bought a restaurant named Chris Steak House in New Orleans in May 1965. Ruth had never intended to expand, but after a vicious kitchen fire decimated the building, she was forced to move in order to remain in business, and then Ruth had the restaurant up and running within ten days. The restaurant focuses on serving USDA Prime steaks, each grilled to perfection, topped with butter and freshly chopped parsley, and served to sizzle on a 500-degree plate. Wolfgang's Steakhouse is situated in the middle of Midtown Manhattan, the flagship Park Lane, and Wolfgang's is beautifully positioned in the former Vanderbilt Hotel's dining room. The architecture of the restaurant is stunning, with arched ceilings tiled by the renowned Rafael Guastavino. Guastavino's exquisite tile work, seen in blue and white on the vaulted ceilings, is nowhere else to be found than NYC.
