Susan Hardwicke is the first therapist in my life to extract the root experience of decades of shame and eating disorders that have haunted me. And after 20+ years of struggle, and she helped me grow from a scared, ever dwindling, insecure human wearing a heavy mask of perfectionism in many roles, to a self-loving, self-compassionate, in the moment mother, wife, and worker. I always knew I had so much going for me but couldn't figure out why I insisted on destroying myself and my gifts. "Miss Susan" made me comfortable enough to say things I'd never let myself say or feel. To discuss the unspeakable. And once spoken, she helped me understand them, digest them, and dissolve them. She has given me a life I was starting to think I'd never find. And I am eternally grateful for her wisdom and intelligence, compassion and humor, and open-hearted support. She is the best cheerleader a person could have.
