Joseph earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed his urologic surgery residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital. He furthered his training with a fellowship in reconstructive urologic surgery at University College London in England and is affiliated with F.F. Thompson Hospital. Dr. Jean V. Joseph specializes in robotic surgery for urologic diseases, with a focus on prostate cancer. He is widely recognized both nationally and internationally for improving surgical outcomes for prostate cancer patients. He has played a significant role in the field of robotic surgery, serving as the President of the Society of Urologic Robotic Surgery. Dr. Jean has authored numerous articles in prestigious medical journals, primarily focusing on robotic and minimally invasive surgery. Currently holding the position of W.W. Scott Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology, and Professor of Oncology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Dr. Jean V. Joseph has also assumed leadership roles, including serving on the Board of the University of Rochester Medical Center. He is an executive board member of the Society of Academic Urologists, serves as Secretary on the Board of the Northeastern Section of the American Urological Association, and is a certifying examiner for the American Board of Urology.
