Thomas J. Guzzo, MD, MPH - PENNSYLVANIA HOSPITAL

At the end of May after a ct scan I was diagnosed with a kidney tumor ,because there were no hospitals that could treat me at the jersey shore I was referred to university of Penn and Dr Thomas Guzzo .The diagnosis was the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and by the following Friday I was sitting in front of Dr Guzzo at Penn .He explained to me it was better to address this as soon as possible so on that same day they did pre op testing and put me on schedule for June 28th . Arrived at hospital at 12.30 ,the team that got me prepared for surgery was methodical ,but also very caring ,they told my wife she would get updates during procedure ,surgery stared at 3.30 and by 5 pm she was called by Dr Guzzo saying everything went well.I spent 2 nights in the hospital and they were kind enough to let my wife stay with me the whole time .The nurses were phenomenal especially Gia and Bridget so caring and compassionate for such a young age.The whole team was truly a blessing I have no words to express my thanks to Dr Guzzo ,his team, Penn hospital ,and all of the staff that gave an old guy a chance for many more happy years.

Dr. Guzzo performed a Lapriscopic bilateral nephrectomy for advanced PKD on me. No complications, and was home the next day. I couldn’t have asked for more. Many thanks to Dr. Guzzo and his team at Penn!

Dr Guzzo was fantastic. Him and his team took great care of me and the surgery and recovery have been great. Would recommend very highly..
