3 Best American Restaurants in Irving, TX

Delicious and great atmosphere! The music was up beat and very eclectic. We enjoyed it! Gonzalo was the server and he was fantastic. He was kind, efficient, responsive and the service was quick. We ordered the Bayou Balls, as an appetizer. I ordered the pot roast w/mashed potatoes, blacked eye peas and yams. My daughter got Chicken & Dumplins, cabbage, m.p. and okra and my hubby got Buffalo chicken strips, fries, corn and Cajun rice. It was delicious!! Everything had great flavor, was seasoned well and was overall great! The cabbage didn't have much flavor but the rest was on point. The jalapeño cheddar cornbread was just perfect! The peach cobbler was so friggin good! I enjoyed ever single bite!! Overall, a very good experience. I will def be back and def recommend.

This is family. I've been coming here all my life. The owner is wonderful. I know him personally, and he’s a great man. He will do everything he can to ensure your experience is enjoyable and that you have a magnificent time at this restaurant. It’s your home away from home. I love Po Melvins.

From start to finish, our experience at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen was fantastic! As soon as we sat down, they brought out their honey butter croissants—and wow, what a treat. They had a special flavor, slightly crunchy on the outside, melting in your mouth with that sweet honey butter—absolutely amazing. The portion size of the main plate was generous and satisfying. I loved that we got to choose our own sides, which made the meal feel even more customized. We also tried the Painkiller drink, and it was rich, tropical, and perfectly balanced—a must-try if you enjoy flavorful cocktails. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm, comfortable, and full of good vibes. Great food, great service, and an overall 5-star experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Our server Shavonna was EVERYTHING. very informative, patient and truly an all around amazing hostess. the man who i think is a manager, has short black hair & was in the front who sat us was amazing as well. my family & i enjoyed our freshly cooked meals. from the drinks to the food to the atmosphere was 10/10. we will definitely be retuning, THANK YOU GUYS!

We didn't have to wait for a long time. I love this place. I love the food too. I will come back and eat anything here. The bread was amazing and sweet! I really enjoyed it. Waitress was so nice and helpful, made our dinner delightful.
