CRACKER BARREL OLD COUNTRY STORE MCALLEN REVIEWS

One of the only places I will get breakfast from. I am not a big breakfast person, but their strawberry cheesecake pancakes are absolutely amazing. And their hash brown casserole? Even better. My only complaint is that sometimes the service is slow but this location is almost always filled when we visit. Which explains the wait, but that's what happens when the food is worth it. The prices are also great, not overly pricey and you get a good size portion for what you pay. They also have a gift shop to browse while waiting for a seat or just leaving with a little something for home or your child.

Surprisingly good breakfast in this place, the atmosphere and service is very good. The waitress who served us was very friendly and attentive. A good American breakfast with tasty coffee. I would definitely go again.

Love Cracker Barrel. When we travel with our RV we plan over night stays. We have supper & breakfast and then on our way.... Great safe places to spend the nights while traveling to our destinations.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! Alejandra helped me out and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. She went above and beyond by offering me some coupons for my next visit, which I really appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of flavors and portions that left me more than satisfied. The desserts were amazing — rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I also loved the beverages; they were refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable, and the service was top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Love it here. I haven't been let down in service or food yet. They listen and answer questions that are asked and provide information when needed. While it does get busy at certain times or for special days, the staff are good at time management in food delivery. There is a bit of wait during the busy times and yet they also provide a table not too long afterward.

Excellent atmosphere and food. Went after Comic Con with a hearty appetite and really enjoyed it.

If you’re in McAllen, TX, SALT - New American Table is an absolute must-visit! Knowing Chef Delgado’s dedication to the community and his efforts to support local food banks, I was excited to try his renowned cuisine. Dining there with my daughter was a unique, unforgettable experience—a true journey of flavors from start to finish. Each dish, from appetizers to dessert, was crafted with incredible attention to flavor and presentation. Sitting by the kitchen was a treat, allowing us to watch the team work and interact closely with our amazing server, Hugo. We were well taken care of by the chef and his team, who ensured every moment was special. I’ll be making the 2.5-hour journey back to McAllen soon for another visit!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in McAllen. I recommend sitting at the chefs counter overlooking the kitchen. Very diverse menu and everything is outstanding including the service and the wine menu. I recommend it will return.

Phenomenal. Service was great, food was spectacular, and the ambiance was perfect. Very good drinks! Save room for dessert.
