3 Best American Restaurants in Overland Park, KS

Fantastic food and an overall fantastic experience! We went on a Wednesday night so they were not very busy. Our server stayed on top of keeping our drinks filled and even brought out more chips for our queso when he saw that we were getting low! It's small details like this that really make or break an experience.

Have you been to Nick and Jake’s? I’ve been here probably 20 times. Every time it’s really good. There’s always a line and that can be a little frustrating, but that’s because it’s good! I believe they make all their sauces and dressings and things like that in house they don’t have a lot of prepared foods. I’ve had the meatloaf, the chicken pot pie, I love Nick‘s salad with chicken. I’ve had the Asian salad. I’ve had the Reuben sandwich. I’ve had the club sandwich. I’ve had the burger. I don’t have any complaints about any of them. They were all worthy of ordering again. The pictures are from my most recent trip where I had grandma‘s chicken for the first time. I substituted mashed potatoes for the jalapeño grits. My husband had the short rib, shepherds pie …Definitely worth stomping here.

First time here.. stopped in for lunch before doing some shopping. California chicken sandwich was very good. The chicken was a little tough, but was still very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly. The inside of the restaurant is very cool, felt very upscale but still cozy. Would definitely return!

I was here on a business trip, and I was looking for a place where I could get a good meal and not feel awkward eating alone. The area surrounding this business left me feeling a bit concerned, but I tried it anyway. My waitress was professional, the food was incredible, and it was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Met up with a friend to have lunch and wow, it was good. The French dip is really good. The bead has a good outside but not so crunchy it tears your mouth up and super soft in the middle. And the au jus omg so good. Also had the prime rib, and wow, it's hard to find a good one around anymore. This one has it. Had absolutely wonderful service at the bar. Never once had to chase her down she was very alert to our needs.

Came by for a last minute dinner and was not expecting to have such a fantastic dinner. Even the price point is surprisingly low compared to other stark house in the area. The Hong Kong shrimp was a fantastic starter. I’d recommend sharing because it is a huge portion of shrimp. For the entree I went with the special which was a horseradish topped Kansas strip. And it was delicious. If it’s on special I highly recommend it. The service and ambience fits a more expensive establishment. Will for sure come back.
