3 Best American Restaurants in Overland Park, KS

Fantastic food and an overall fantastic experience! We went on a Wednesday night so they were not very busy. Our server stayed on top of keeping our drinks filled and even brought out more chips for our queso when he saw that we were getting low! It's small details like this that really make or break an experience.

Have you been to Nick and Jake’s I’ve been here probably 20 times. Every time it’s really good. There’s always a line and that can be a little frustrating, but that’s because it’s good! I believe they make all their sauces and dressings and things like that in house they don’t have a lot of prepared foods. I’ve had the meatloaf, the chicken pot pie, I love Nick‘s salad with chicken. I’ve had the Asian salad. I’ve had the Reuben sandwich. I’ve had the club sandwich. I’ve had the burger. I don’t have any complaints about any of them. They were all worthy of ordering again. The pictures are from my most recent trip where I had grandma‘s chicken for the first time. I substituted mashed potatoes for the jalapeño grits. My husband had the short rib, shepherds pie …Definitely worth stomping here.

First time here.. stopped in for lunch before doing some shopping. California chicken sandwich was very good. The chicken was a little tough, but was still very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly. The inside of the restaurant is very cool, felt very upscale but still cozy. Would definitely return.

Stopped in for dinner this evening, I was able to grab a seat at the bar. This was my first time visiting, and wasn't quite sure what I wanted. They had several menu items that caught my eye, but I decided to go with a side house salad for starters. My entrée I decided on the 12 oz. Kansas City Strip cooked medium well, Grilled asparagus, and fries. Everything was delicious, the service at the bar was polite and professional.

This atmosphere was amazing Kayla was a attentive waitress and Hannah was a nice manager. My water glass never stayed empty. The cooks know how to make you feel that you’re eating from a high end restaurant….. if I could give them a 10 this place would be one of them. We ate a 3 course meal for a great price…….let me share the drinks are reasonable and yummy. Please go out and eat here.

Phenomenal! Service was perfect. Very friendly staff. Food was AMAZING. The crab and shrimp dip was 10/10 as well as the stuffed chicken. I think we have made this our go to spot when we are in the area which is often.
