Lower Huron Metropark spans 1,258 acres of mature woodlands, grassy meadows, and the scenic Huron River. During the summer, visitors can zoom down two waterslides, float along a lazy river, or get drenched under a 300-gallon tipping bucket at the Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center. The park also offers scenic picnic areas, as well as basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts. Two giant slides provide exciting drops into the cool water below. The aquatic playground is a favourite with kids, featuring various fountains, mini water slides, and climbing bridges. The highlight is the massive dumping bucket, which drenches everyone nearby and brings endless laughter.

Red Oaks Waterpark offers a variety of attractions, including a wave action pool, a triple-flume waterslide, the River Ride, and SplashTown a children’s splash pad featuring 52 interactive water features. Highlights include a water play climber with slides and a dumping bucket. The park’s lifeguards are trained through the Jeff Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program and are licensed by Ellis to work at OCP facilities. Each lifeguard completes an initial 24 hours of training, 10 hours of orientation and on-site instruction, and 10 hours of shadowing a veteran lifeguard on duty. To maintain top-notch skills, lifeguards are required to attend ongoing in-service training sessions throughout the summer. Management staff oversee lifeguard operations daily.
