3 Best Assisted Living Facilities in Thousand Oaks, CA

My mom has been a resident here since Sept 2024. She has some dementia but is not living in the memory unit. She currently does not need any daily assistance but as she ages it is nice knowing it is available. She has adjusted well to living here and is actually thriving here. She loves the activities, especially bingo and rummicube. The food is also quite good. I would definitely recommend this place. The staff is most friendly and attentive. I have no complaints thus far.

I can't say enough good things about this facility. We brought my 89-year-old father in from a very bad experience in another local facility. Sage Mountain's property, general staff, med staff, in-house restaurant, activities, housekeeping, and maintenance are all top-notch. His room looks like an apartment rather than a room in an assisted living facility. The med staff are responsive, communicative, and kind. The general staff are friendly, kind, and attentive to the residents at Sage. The property is always clean and well-maintained. One of our biggest surprises is the food in the restaurant is delicious! He can go on any of the many excursions they offer or stay in and watch movies in the theatre room if he chooses... they have an excellent gym for the residents, too...in case they want to add another workout to the group exercise classes!—loads of options for him.

Sage has been a wonderful place to care for my father. Part of that process is having family members visit frequently. I am always welcomed with a smile and am communicated frequently and efficiently when needs arise. Caregivers are so kind and considerate to the residents. Activities include lots of music that my father really enjoys. I feel lucky thst Sage is so close to my home too!.

Finding a retirement home that you feel safe and comfortable with is such a long and overwhelming process. After visiting many homes for my dad, we found the perfect place. Inga, Holly, and Michelle were so helpful and answered all of our questions without hesitation. We didn't even need to schedule an appointment. I love that this business is family-owned. It always feels like home when I come visit my dad. He is always telling me about the fun events/activities and there is even a holiday.

A friend of mine became a resident at Hillcrest Royale Retirement back at the beginning of April. Sadly, she passed away at the beginning of September. I wish that she could have started her stay much earlier because of the high quality of care she received there. The food was excellent and the Staff would bend over backwards to do whatever they could to help her. Even during her last days, the local hospice agency was allowed to care for her needs. If you are looking for an excellent Assisted Living facility, I highly recommend Hillcrest Royale Retirement. You won’t be disappointed.
