Mozzicato Depasquale Bakery and Pastry Shop

THE Italian bakery left in the south end of Hartford...and was probably tied for best back in the heyday of all things Italian on Franklin Avenue. Their cannoli is the best I've had anywhere, noticeably more nuanced sweet ricotta flavor than the big shops up in the North End of Boston. Great fruit & cream cake and the chocolate mousse cake is great too. Nice savories like pepper biscuits, arancini and simple pizza slices. I could list many more great choices there including the breads.

We ordered the fruit cake as our wedding cake back in September. As part of our consultation, we were shown different designs and allowed to mix and match elements across the different designs. We chose a cake with ribbon and flowers, and were asked to bring our materials to the bakery ahead of the wedding. We chose some fairly cheap fake flowers, and I can't believe how beautiful the bakery was able to make them look! Not only was our cake gorgeous, but it was also fresh and delicious. The delivery to our venue also went smoothly.
