“Dr. Jorge A. Alvarez is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Jorge Alvarez has completed his internship, residency, and fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at UTHSCSA. He practices at the Methodist Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio, providing comprehensive and compassionate cardiovascular care. He was among the first in the region to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacements, a cutting-edge procedure to replace diseased aortic heart valves in patients not candidates for open-heart surgery.
