THE CATHEDRAL BASILICA OF ST. LOUIS REVIEWS
Go here! Not religious, but did find a place to write the name of a deceased loved one for a prayer which was really neat. Just so beautiful and amazing place. Go down to the museum downstairs, very cool! A massive and impressive cathedral that combines both Eastern and Western European architectural styles. As impressive as the exterior is, the interior is on a whole other level. It might not be so ancient as the European churches. However, the number of mosaic pieces is incredible. The work that was done 100 years old is unbelievably gorgeous...You feel like you are a part of this huge masterpiece. Over 40 million mosaic tiles painstakingly installed over 40 years - I think that my mouth was open the entire time. It's best to visit outside of the worship schedule so that you can tour the entire interior. Must recommended
The real experience of viewing this majestic piece of architecture is difficult to portray in words or photography. If you want to feel it, you have to be inside this cathedral. This basilica is dedicated to St. Louis. the historical figure that gave the city of St. Louis its name - and it lives up to its reputation. The central dome and the mosaic art on the ceiling, walls, and pillars are just astounding. The grandeur of this landmark building is something not to be missed.

BASILICA OF SAINT LOUIS, KING OF FRANCE REVIEWS
I immediately felt the spirit of the lord as my daughter and I walked in we dipped a finger in the holy water I blessed my daughter and we proceeded to the front to pray donate then light a candle as we stood in awe!! Centuries old church and the power we felt was truly overwhelming. I beat cancer in a single dad and without gods favor I would not be here so this experience was what I needed as currently my life is financially in ruin but faith gets me through. I left feeling empowered. Thank you father.
This is a well preserved historical church building. My husband and I stopped in here on our way to the gateway arch and the sanctuary is beautiful. This was a nice quiet place to pray and reflect in the middle of a busy city.
A gorgeous basilica and little piece of history with the Catholic Church, America, and France. Glad to have visited just for the sight alone!

ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH REVIEWS
Most Italian neighborhoods in American cities were inhabitated by Italian immigrants from the south. St. Louis is different in the fact that it had also a consistent immigration from the north. Hence St. Ambrose church: it's a famous church in Milan, where Saint Ambrose lived (and converted Augustine of Hippo) in the early middle ages.
Lived here almost 75 years, and the church has always been the catalyst for this neighborhood, and one of the few surviving city neighborhoods with it's own church. The parish community keeps this beautiful church in very good condition. A real gem for St Louis. ciao john.
We were visiting from Florida last week. This is a beautiful friendly church community. I look forward to our next visit.
