Sekou’s West African Dance class was fantastic experience. I highly recommend. I was a drop in, new as a student and it was a total joy. People were welcoming, all levels of experience, the live drumming was a shortcut to get out of my brain and into my body, we didn’t face the mirrors so I wasn’t distracted by judging myself, and Sekou brings an ease and a love into the teaching. I appreciated being taught the roots of the specific dance we were learning. Oh, and a tip for new comers… bring some cash to tip the drummers (you can also Venmo).

A phenomenally creative & talented dance company that offer classes & workshops. A uniquely intimate venue that gets you up close to each performance & all those brilliant dancers. A warm & inviting atmosphere; a personable staff & there's plenty of opportunity to meet & mingle with the dancers after a performance. The costuming, staging & lighting is consistently impressive & the choreography is always pure genius! Did I mention, it's also great fun! Not at all stuffy or even slightly pretentious. A pure joy to behold, & top notch experience!!

All are welcome from toddler to adult. Classes are fun and challenging and you can choose a level from beginner to pro.

We worked with Sarah over two private lessons on our first dance for our wedding and we are so glad we did! Sarah is an amazing instructor who not only helped choreograph our dance, but broke down and explained theory behind each move to make it easier for us to learn. (She also has years of experience working with couples and in the wedding industry and knows the most photogenic dance moves for photographers!) We had a blast learning from Sarah, practicing our dance in the months leading up to our wedding, and performing for our family and friends. I started taking salsa at Viscount about 9 months ago and have loved every class sarah & jenny have taught! The instructors are really good about providing historical and cultural context in their classes and meeting every student with kindness and support for where they're at in their dancing. Its been so wonderful to spend time at viscount- the people here are the absolute best.
