"Holocene is a two-level nightclub in a former auto warehouse featuring live bands, eclectic DJs, and techno music. The club is 5,000 square feet with 25-foot ceilings, towering white walls, spindly bow trusses, and a metric ton of hand-built modern details. The club has two main floors, each with an excellent audio system, lights, video projection, and a performance area. The club hosted a wide range of events from techno and house parties with legendary DJs to a universe of dynamic Portland bands, stylish indie stars from around the globe, and R&B and hip-hop icons. The club has been entertaining live performances from folk to minimal techno, Portland's most exciting actors, unforgettable dance parties, and all manner of arts and multimedia parties for over 21 years. Generally, Holocene's team hosts live music on Wednesdays and DJ dance parties on Fridays and Saturdays. They only permit those who are 18 or older with valid identification. Holocene is available for all special functions, from weddings and receptions to birthdays, company parties, meetings, and video shoots.
2026 Update: They have hosted musicians cooking for their fans and puppeteers crafting original puppet shows for bands. They have hosted local non-profit fundraisers, nationally renowned podcasts, storytelling events, and live beat-making contests."
