I took classes at NCDI as a preteen/teenager and always loved it. I appreciated that the teachers focused on technique since we didn’t have to worry about being ready for a competition or recital. I decided to come back to dance as an adult and try a style of dance I’d never done before (Tap) and it has been just as warm and welcoming. Kirstie is an amazing human and truly tried to connect with every person who walks through the studio. Even if you are an adult dancer who only comes once a week, she will know your name! I pass by multiple dance studios on my way to NCDI, but there’s no other one I would choose to practice at.

I have been dancing for over 20 years and recently moved to the Raleigh area from Orlando. I spent many months in search of a studio that offered a variety of adult classes but nothing ever compared to the studios I was used to back home. That is until I visited the NC Dance Institute! I have taken a few different classes already and every teacher has been so kind and welcoming. They not only offer a variety of classes for all ages, but also a variety of skill levels. They don’t focus all of their time teaching students how to be a competitor, rather, they teach them the necessary skills to advance in their own personal practice. It truly is the only studio in the area that a long time dancer like myself can practice and improve my skills while also having a great time. Highly recommended.

I am so grateful for NCDI! The sweet Director Kristi, really took the time to get to know me and place me in the best classes for my training. I was able to learn from some of the best and most highly recognized dance teachers in the area. They were all professional, yet fun with traditional styles that kept up with the times. And the community surrounding the studio is truly fulfilling; unbeatable amount of love and support. I highly recommend taking classes at NCDI- you will love it too.

My daughter has been part of the Nan's family for 4 years now. We have seen Nan's School of Dance grow and change locations, but the studio has maintained that sense of being a dance "family" throughout. Miss Hillary (Hillary White), the owner, is extremely personable, helpful, and hands on. As busy as Hillary must be, she is always available to answer questions and offer helpful advice or information when it comes to dance. The dance teachers that my daughter has had at Nan's have also been knowledgeable, fun, and engaging. And now, in these uncertain times, Nan's quickly adapted to offer virtual dance classes via Zoom. My daughter truly looks forward to her class each week, and I'm grateful for that bit of normalcy and the chance for her to see Miss Emily and her dance class friends.

Our granddaughters have been attending Nans School of Dance for many years now! They love their dance teachers and they love dancing! We love watching them grow from the basic dancing to more advance dancing. What a joy it is to attend their recitals: Nans School of Dance does a great job with their presentations and stage props too.

Our daughters just finished their first year of ballet and we are so grateful for such a wonderful experience at Nans! They enjoy attending class each week, making new friends and building confidence. Ms. Hillary has been the best teacher we could ask for and look forward to returning for many years to come.
