She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Valerie M. Harvey is a highly trained, board-certified dermatologist with over two decades of clinical experience delivering specialized patient-centered treatment for skin, hair, and nail diseases. She focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pigment disorders such as hyperpigmentation and melasma, as well as other skin conditions that affect minority patients disproportionately. Her research focused on studying melanoma outcome disparities and using dermatology resources for underserved populations. She serves on multiple boards and committees for the American Academy of Dermatology and the Skin of Color Society. She practices at TPMG Hampton Roads Center for Dermatology.
