If you’re looking/have been looking for someone that is skilled enough to hack into your dog’s brain, and make you fall in love ten times over with your dog post-training, then please choose Denise Willis! She and trainer Shelby worked wonders with my Australian Shepherd puppy, Lia. Lia is now the best version of herself as a “working dog”, and they are the ones responsible for the foundation of this success. Denise is very attentive to making you, the owner, feel at ease with the training process, and she always makes herself available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Lia and I are SO grateful for Denise and Shelby! 5 stars all the way!!!
Denise was great with my Golden Retriever puppy. She was very easy to work with and was able to identify what type of training sessions we needed in order to get my pup to walk nicely on a leash and behave in public settings. She was able to set realistic expectations and goals for my puppy which was super helpful! I’ll be using Denise for any additional training needs we may have.
Flynn, my one-year-old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier was good on a leash and had already passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen but off-leash he has a mind of his own. Denise led Flynn and I through training to a confident recall and down stay. Good manners also became part of the training and now jumping and barking are coming under control. As first-time dog owners, we didn’t really know how to deal with our puppy’s energy which would sometimes get aggressive during walks. The puppy classes gave us a lot of information on her development and really helped give us the confidence to raise our pup right. Now, all that aggressive behavior is gone and she’s just a perfect little mush, thanks, Gretchen!!!!!
When we first adopted our Australian Cattle Dog we knew she would be a bundle of energy so we immediately signed her up for puppy training with Gretchen thanks to a recommendation from some friends. The in-depth online coursework and group training sessions have proven invaluable to our pup's development. Gretchen does a fantastic job at explaining the training techniques in a way that is easy to understand and replicate at home. The puppy training is worth every penny and I highly recommend enrolling your pup as soon as possible!
I can’t recommend Gretchen and Baltimore Dogworks enough. We have been taking our sheepadoodle Crosby to puppy class since he was about 18 weeks old. He’ll be 6 months at the end of the year and we still go as often as possible to soak up all of Gretchen’s knowledge. The first three classes were one-on-one and then it’s group classes from there. Gretchen makes everyone feel welcome during class and allows us to share what we’ve been working on that week. It’s a lot of work and a big commitment but 100% worth it. Overall, we are so happy to have found BDW! We will definitely be continuing our training journey with them after Crosby is out of his puppy classes.

Pawsitive Paul's Dog Training is owned by Paul Sheinberg. Paul has worked with all manner of canines, from Teacup Poodles to Great Danes. Paul's sessions are fun, interactive, hands-on, and perfect for all ages. The series of classes Paul teaches starts with the basics, and by the end of the series, your dog will know anywhere from 10-12 different commands. He has made numerous appearances on Fox 45. Highly recommend working with Paul! Well worth the money for sure. My rescue dog Effie has issues with lunging at men, other dogs, and people on bicycles and scooters. Basically, I couldn't take her out without worrying constantly that she was going to try and jump/nip someone. Paul's expertise and upbeat attitude in just one session really made a difference. It's only been a day or two after our session and I've noticed an incredible improvement with Effie. Paul's advice and training is personal and well-tailored to your dog upon meeting them. He truly wants the best for your dog and is very responsive via email and phone. Along with the in-person session, Paul provides a zoom call follow-up and is always ready to answer any questions that may come up throughout your dog's training. He also emails you detailed, written documents and notes to further help with training. Please work with Paul, he is the best dog trainer in Baltimore! Very affordable pricing compared to all other trainers/training programs in the area. You can tell he does this because he absolutely adores dogs and is an excellent trainer.
We reached out to Paul soon after adopting a very active Pitbull mix to improve basic commands. His directions were easy to follow and research-based!! Paul maintains a close relationship with all his clients and is a quick phone call away with any new/worsening issues. We highly recommend contacting Paul with any level of behavioral issues, he always provides helpful advice regardless of the situation.
