The trail has a total of 3.8 miles of hiking trail loop and is considered easy. The trail is excellent for hiking, birding, walking, bird watching, road biking, wildflowers, forests, and mountain biking. The trail has over 3,000 acres of some of the most beautiful woodlands and trails. Dogs are allowed on the trails but must be on a leash. The best time to visit the West Hartford Reservoir trail is from March to October.
