Diamond Head is a natural cone on Oahu's Hawaiian island and is the most famous Hawaiian state park. The trail leads visitors to the summit of the volcanic tuff cone and former fort with panoramic views. The British soldiers who toured the area in the 19th century believed that the sparkling calcite crystals on the nearby beach were diamonds. Diamond Head stands at an elevation of 761 feet above sea level. The park has breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu, and you can walk along a path that leads you to the bottom of the 300,000-year-old crater. The crater occupies 350 acres. The last activity of the volcanic tuff cone was possibly between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago. The trail took 1.5-2 hours for Diamond Head to walk 1.6 miles (2.5 km). The ascent continues up steep stairs and via an illuminated 225-foot tunnel to the 1911 Fire Control Station. The station, which was built on the summit, directed artillery fire from batteries in Waikiki and Fort Ruger outside the Diamond Head crater.

DIAMOND HEAD STATE MONUMENT REVIEWS
Lovely hike, well setup for almost anyone to get to the top. Took about an hour to climb to the top and about half an hour to climb down. The view is incredible from the top. I would recommend going early before it gets too hot. Honestly, it was a great little morning activity, and I would recommend.
This place contains an amazing view. It does come at a cost to "vacationers", at the time of this comment, you must reserve a spot online to get a parking spot. It's well worth it. The hike to the top is quite challenging. But there are spots along the way you can stop and rest. They also have water bottle machines at the trail head before you start the hike if you would like to purchase one.
Easily one of my favorite early morning walks in the area. Parking is limited so early arrival is optimal, but you can park outside of the crater and walk to the entrance. It's not too difficult of a trek, just a lot of stairs and some small spaces. Views are excellent. Can be crowded at times depending on when you go.

Koko Crater is a 1,208-foot (368-meter) tuff cone and is a popular tourist attraction on Oahu's south shore. The hiking track that goes to the peak may be seen from afar. Koko Head, a lesser tuff cone nearby, stands 642 feet (196 m) tall. To reach the Koko Crater vantage point, climb 1,048 stairs/railroad ties that were created over 60 years ago to transport supplies to the military bunkers at the top. The steps are really steep. Some individuals find the brief, bridge-like segment frightening because the railway lines on which one walks are elevated above the earth. The other route to the right is significantly simpler. Horse stables and the Koko Crater Botanical Garden, which is home to many cactus and succulents, are located within the crater.

KOKO CRATER RAILWAY TRAIL REVIEWS
I hate and love this hike because it was difficult and rewarding (the view at the top was breathtaking) at the same time. Make sure you wear proper shoes (not crocs or flip-flops) and bring a lot of water and snacks (to refuel at the peak). I recommend you go early when the sun is not completely out (bring a hat or wet sport towel) because the heat can make the hike more difficult.
The hike lives up to it’s name. It definitely challenging. Most take between 20 mins to an hour depending on your fitness . But if you do it few times it gets easier each time. The trail gets busier by the time also tougher with sun. So, I recommend doing it early.
I underestimated this hike as it was a little more challenging than I thought but so worth it. The views at the top are amazing. Many people that walked by us are really friendly. You won’t regret going!

Manoa Falls Trail is the top-rated hiking trail in Honolulu, HI. The total length of the trail is 1.7 miles. The elevation gain of the trail is 633 feet. The trail is out and back type. The trail is generally considered an easy trail route. The time taken to complete the total trial is 1 hour and nine minutes. The trail begins with a shipping container and leads to a large open lush field that has been utilized as a filming location for several films. The trail continues across the field and then crosses a natural wood footbridge through a Eucalyptus tree grove. You will soon arrive at a freshwater pool with an interpretive sign indicating what you might see in the stream. The trail is not as established and upgraded after this point. On the right side of the trail, there is a low-lying rest area with seats, an informative sign, and a tree arch throne. There is a marked route to the left, approximately 100 feet from the observation spot. This is the Aihualama Trail, which climbs the ridge through bamboo and provides views of Honolulu and Manoa Valley. Aihualama Trail can be difficult for inexperienced hikers. If you're searching for a bigger adventure and have the time, this trek might lead you to a magnificent lookout.

MANOA FALLS TRAIL REVIEWS
By far one of my favorite hikes on Oahu. It is easy to access, the trail is of moderate difficulty at most but it's very well maintained. The first 15 minutes of the hike were my favorite with large leafed flora and towering trees all around. It felt like I had truly stepped back into a land of dinosaurs, if only for a few fleeting moments. The waterfall itself was a bit lackluster regarding water flow rate but it was the better of the many waterfall hikes I've done on this trip. I recommend this hike for all ages that still have an adventurous soul that likes to be awed by the beauty of nature.
Very lush and beautiful garden. The waterfall at the end was not very special, the hike itself and all the beautiful nature surrounding you was the best part. Only issue is there is limited wheelchair accessibility so a family member in a wheelchair had to stay behind. It would be nice to have some viewing points that are accessible by wheelchair.
Just beautiful! What an amazing hike. Enjoyed every minute. My husband and I are out of shape, however, we managed to make it to the waterfall without too much problem. The earlier you go the better, before a lot of people show up. Also, be ready to get soaked if it rains. If you love nature this is a must.
