The park's major highlight is “Magic Island,” a man-made peninsula with scenic waterfront walking paths, lagoon-style swimming areas, and sunset viewpoints. The park covers more than 100 acres of open green space with shaded picnic zones, beachfront lawns, and recreation areas. "Kapiolani Regional Park has over 300 acres of parkland, tennis and basketball courts, and baseball and rugby fields. There are 100-year-old trees and a 3-mile jogging course with aerobic exercise stations. The park offers free concerts every Sunday afternoon at the Kapiolani Bandstand. Kapiolani Regional Park is also famous for joggers who utilize its two-mile circumference. There is a Waikiki shell sculpture, and people enjoy a sunset in the park. Kapiolani Regional Park is a great place to stay and spend time with family and friends. The park's fields offer great spots for walking, playing games, flying kites, and tossing a frisbee around.

2026 Update: Kapiolani Regional Park spans a large open recreational area beside Diamond Head crater, offering scenic volcano and ocean views. ALA MOANA REGIONAL PARK REVIEWS

Amazing park with a beautiful view, located along the beach. Clean and quiet place to relax and read. This park is also beautiful for family picnic and for organizing ceremonies. The play ground is extremely big for kids to run around. There also irons implanted for muscles build. There are more than 4 restrooms available here.

A wonderful place for watching people, cultural events, team sports, athletes, nature, Honolulu skyline, sunsets. If you want to leave right after sunset, you will encounter gridlock traffic unless you park near the exit. Otherwise I'd advise walking over to the large Ala Moana shopping center across the street for an hour or two.

You can walk along the beach and the park. The view was gorgeous. There are many people relaxing in the evening. The park offers great walking/running paths. It has many big trees offering shades along the paths. There are many homeless staying in the park as well.

KAPIOLANI REGIONAL PARK REVIEWS

Great place to walk in the morning, doing a couple laps, getting the heart beat up and briskly walking around the block. Nice path to talk with friends/coworkers and just take a leisurely stroll. Lots of bathrooms along the way. Just make sure to move on the side for joggers along the way. Can be about 1.5 miles in a loop, but make as many loops as you want. Fun to walk and talk...check em out!.

Other than loud music here and there , I love walking around the park from time to time. If you walk around the entire park 2-3 laps it will probably help you to achieve 6000+ steps depending on a route. Overall the best place to hang out with families and friends.

Went here for Kilohana Hula Show and it was truly enjoyable. The dancers and singers and performers were so talented and great at sharing their love for their culture.

Beautiful park with nice large field and a beautiful garden area. Attached is a skate park in the back and basketball, tennis court and swimming pool. Great area for kids and adults alike!

Nice park with plenty space. It has children playground, swimming pool, tennis court... I haven't had an issue yet. People walk their dogs too. However, a few times there's people smoking on the grass. They should be taken care of.

Great little park in a secluded area. ,overlooking the area. Picnic area: Nice quiet picnic areas
