"Terry Hershey Park is an ideal destination to have a great time with friends and family. The park features 500 acres and includes scenic bicycle and off-road trails. The park has more than 30 miles for hikers. The paved paths are located in the park's cleared section, free from plants, and about 10 feet wide. The park consists of many paths used by hikers and runners, some paved and some unpaved. The park also includes bathroom facilities and potable water for more convenience. Terry Hershey Park provides a wide range of recreational and walking opportunities. This nature haven provides trails that span over 10 miles from Barker Dam (near State Highway 6) to Texas Beltway 8 and the Sam Houston Tollway. Dogs are allowed along with the hikers.

BUFFALO BAYOU PARK REVIEWS

Love this park. Huge dog park for small or big dogs. Waugh bat bridge is nice during season, many flowers, follows on either side of the bayou, one sand volleyball court, great trails for bikes and skates too, love the skate park and cistern at the north end. Be to your vehicle before dark or very likely you'll have a window shattered.

Great park! Rain, flood, hurricane or shine! Buffalo Bayou Park is a great place to walk, hiking or ride your bike through the bayou that traverses Houston from west to east and ultimately turns into the Houston shop channel East of downtown.

A 10 mile park, with wonderful sculptures, surrounded by trees. Such a beauty, even better if you take a bike ride around the whole park.

HOUSTON ARBORETUM & NATURE CENTER REVIEWS

This was my favorite experience in a recent trip to Texas. It’s an extremely beautiful arboretum with a variety of biomes: fields, forests, prairies, and more than one picturesque pond. You can wander aimlessly through all of this rehabilitated nature, follow a single trail, or grab a biome map from the visitors center which charts a path along several trails in the same environment. As varied as the trails was the wildlife. Many birds, bugs, lizards, turtles, and the absolutely highlight—armadillos! Although they are nocturnal, they were out in the daytime in the woodlands section. For nature lovers and nature neutrals alike, this is a must see park.

This place was great. Me and my fiance were in town and looking for something to do before leaving. We found this online. We had an awesome experience. Definitely great to go to for a quick, low cost, fun experience.

Nice city park. There's a little bayou view, Prairie Hill is gorgeous, and the trails are well-maintained. Very popular with cyclists, so be mindful of pedestrians and vice versa. The trail is actually very long, so if you were to hike the whole thing including the anthills, it would probably take like 5 hours, so pace yourself when you're planning.

This is the most beautiful park I've ever seen in my life. They even have real grapes that grow along the walkway. Lots of shade and a workout section. Very clean and well taken care of.

Great place to walk, run or bike. Feel very at peace here. Playgrounds are nice for kiddos too!
