Really nice museum for all ages and times of the year. If you’re a tourist, depending on what you want to do there; it might actually be cheaper to get a membership vs day tickets esp including parking and special exhibits - also then gives you the option to come back and split up the visit since it’s a large museum. Big highlight is the butterfly garden - lots of interactive things for kids to do, and a lot of animals in the exhibits that are more special to view. Lots of school groups on weekdays and more tourists on weekends but you can stay longer or go at your own pace throughout.

This place is absolutely amazing! The gift shop has beautiful items that you’ll want to take home. Our favorite part is definitely the butterfly exhibit, where you can see all the incredible colors. There are so many different exhibits to explore, and they change them up regularly, which keeps things exciting. The membership is totally worth it—I highly recommend it since you get great discounts. They also have a general store for snacks and a fast food option. You could easily spend a whole day here, or even more, just soaking up all the information.

Wow, this was my first time at the Houston Museum of Natural Science and I loved it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but everything was amazing. The dinosaur exhibit was super cool, and the gems and space sections really surprised me. The butterfly center was probably my favorite part—it felt like walking into a dream. Everyone working there was nice and helpful too. I’ll definitely come back again and bring friends or family next time.

A breath taking number of things to see! The proximity to the real rockets and places that were part of the history is just making you get goosebumps! To be sat in the very same chairs at the viewing area of the control room where Apollo 11 was being monitored from and later where help was being provided to the crew is simply priceless! Young or older, this place makes your imagination go into top gear as there are so many objects to see and they are real! Dragon 9 booster included. Great day for everybody, regardless of age. A visual feast for all aerospace fans.

This is a must do in Houston. You can spend a full day easily. So much to do for kids and families. Loved the way they put their life size mock ups along with their theatres and real space stuff. I thought the tour to Mission Control was sensational and gave you a great insight into what it would have been like to be there when man first walked on the moon. Loved also seeing Elons space x rocket that was caught in the arm which is now located there. Fascinating place and well worth the trip when in Houston.

Lots of great exhibits and so much to see. Plan on spending a full day here. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Be sure to get your tram tickets right away and plan your day around those and the videos/presentations you want to see. The campus tour is only scheduled for 35 minutes but you can get off at Rocket Park if you’d like (and I recommend you do). Here you’ll probably spend at least an hour between going through the exhibit and then waiting to catch the next tram back.
