HOLMES LAKE PARK REVIEWS
In the summer they have sailboat races (I can't remember which day). Great trail around the lake! So much space for intimate picnics, sand volleyball courts, and baseball fields. It would be super neat if there were paddle boat or board rentals!
Sunrise kayaking and hiking around Holmes Lake was a hit with the dogs this morning! We always enjoy spotting lots of different birds around the lake.
Had a great experience fishing, I'm pretty sure we caught a few of the small fish twice lol. But they kids loved fishing here and they were definitely biting, and we ate a picnic lunch at one of the wooden tables.

PIONEERS PARK NATURE CENTER REVIEWS
Not a whole lot here to see outdoors other than some free range bison and turkey vultures. The nature center was super cool. The boys got to see a few snakes up close. And all the animals that inhabit that area.
Nice Park just out of town. Many trails some are only open during day around nature center. They also have Buffalo you can watch. They have some park benches to sit and observe nature and God's creation. There are many pavilions and picnic tables, a popular place for wedding pictures and prom.
Went for a hike with my kids, my son took us on a trail I hadn't been on in almost 20 years, since he was a little boy, so that was cool! Really disappointed in the trash people leave behind ???? Beside that, it was a beautiful day and a nice hike!

WILDERNESS PARK REVIEWS
A strong hike for the region through wooded areas with lots of small mammal and bird activity. There are also various trails across a relatively long park so one can get hikes of some length. The creek wide and winding with fowl and various bank and bed structures, and fallen trees. Most trails are also suitable for bicycling and well maintained. There is some diversity in tree age and in understory, although invasive species such as honeysuckle are making significant inroads in some areas.
Great hiking trails in lincoln! There were some dead animals and skulls on the side of some trails so maybe not the best place to be at night but in the day is great :) plus some is shaded by trees which helps to keep your skin out of the sun for a bit when out for long periods of time!!
Wilderness is definitely my favorite place to hike/walk/bike in Lincoln. There are so many different trails, it is expensive, and I often see animals. It's beautiful. The only problem I ever encounter is people not leashing their dogs, which can be problematic for a number of reasons.
