HEARD NATURAL SCIENCE MUSEUM & WILDLIFE SANCTUARY REVIEWS
Lots to see. Great walking trails and several to choose from. Animal viewing areas, inside and outside. Dinosaur walking trail with dinosaurs along the way. Planning on returning to see the butterfly garden when it's in season. Picnic areas, amphitheater, park benches along the trails and a canoe rental for the water areas. There is a gift shop, classrooms and a lot of land to cover.
Great for adventure! If you have small kids, I’d recommend good walking shoes for them sunscreen and water. It’s a very good place to go hiking. If that’s what you’re into you see nature and just the smell out there. It’s just pure amazing. It’s hard to find places that have that amount of greenery nowadays so it honestly was a breath of fresh air.
This nature preserve is absolutely beautiful. Went on all of the clearly posted trails, and all were beautiful. Will definitely be coming back.

ERWIN PARK REVIEWS
They've done some great things out here at Erwin. Bring your bike and enjoy the fun and joy of this trail. Bring your feet and hike. Just go out and enjoy the work of the trail crew that has really made the park so much fun to experience. It's a beautiful place, and you can enjoy the solitude of nature, the lushness of the flora and the serenity of the lack of hustle and bustle.
Good trail for Mountain bike or hiking. Total distance is roughly 10 miles. Not a lot of steep climbs but some that will get your legs burning. Several sections to get some speed and have fun. Lots of open areas so keep that in mind in the summer or windy days. Several jumps scattered throughout the trails including a skills section near the top parking lot...you can't miss it.
This is an amazing park. Especially if you like hiking and foliage. There's plenty of beautiful places to take photos. The park also has bike trails. They do have restrooms. But I do suggest you bring a fair amount of water caise I did not see any water fountains. There is plenty of parking at each of the areas including the playground areas. It's a great place to bring kids.

Great trail for riding bikes/scooters with the kids, explore nature (you can walk down to the water creek and explore there too), and enjoy a creative and nice playground. Good shaded tables. I think the only thing that would make it better is a restroom.
My favorite trail! Beautiful scenery and views, had a waterfall (pleasant surprise)! Great for bicycling and stroller friendly paved trail! Nice clean playground at park entrance!
