“Chestnut Square Historic Village is a well-established place in McKinney, TX. The Historic village is a collection of six historic homes, chapel, a replica of a one-room school house and store on 2.5 acres just south of downtown McKinney square. The period artifacts have take part in the building and indicating how people lived in Collin County from 1854-1940. Their mission is to preserve history, educate the community, and inspire the future by providing educational programs, tours, meetings, special events, and a picturesque venue for weddings, and social gatherings. The grounds also include a blacksmith shop, a smokehouse, and a reception house and reception gardens. The Heritage Guild of Collin County manages Chestnut Square Historic Village. Chestnut Square hosts community events that bring people together to celebrate their heritage.
