WEST ROCK RIDGE STATE PARK REVIEWS

Absolutely a great place for a hike. There are caves if you go up to the left or you can loop it around and go to the top towards the right side. Either way the view in the top is phenomenal. Looking over you see all of New Haven out to Ling Wharf.

Great park with a historical mark for our nation. Im amazed by the quality of the park whether its the decent hike around judges cave to the gentle hike around the lake.

This is a wonderful park for cycling, hiking, or just hanging out. Baldwin drive is a ton of fun to cycle on.

EAST ROCK PARK REVIEWS

All paved walking road (with gravel and rocky trailhead shortcuts) and wonderful views at the top. 360° views and the soldier/Sailor monument is gated off but you can still see it very well and read associated plaques. Lots of picture information all over at the top. We casually walked it and were able to do it all in just over an hour.

Beautiful view of the city and the water! If you are coming from the Eli Whitney Museum, the trail is easy and flat for the first half. After that, you have to go up steep steps, but there's a handrail to help. You can do one-way in 30-40min.

Beautiful East Rock Park is a hidden gem in New Haven! Stunning views, beautiful trails, and a perfect escape from the city. Don't miss it!.

SLEEPING GIANT STATE PARK REVIEWS

One of the top spots in CT! Trails vary from very easy, flat, and wide all the way to steep, rocky, and difficult. The mountain features a good amount of trails. A few trails lead to the watch tower at the top, which was built in the early 1900s, and used for things like an army lookout and even a broadcast tower for Yale football games. Overall just well maintained, great variety of trails, and cool history!.

I hiked the blue trail in January. The were was not too bad. The trail was challenging and the views were spectacular. However, if it’s freezing and there has been a recent rain or snow, the trail will be so tricky because you have to climb on stones!.

Great walk to the tower!! Different trails. Overall an awesome area to do short or longer hikes.
