“Wildwood Park is one of the largest 493-acre parks and is part of Toledo’s Stranahan family estate. The total length of the trail is 2.4 miles, with an elevation gain of 39 feet. The trail is a loop type and takes about 43 minutes to complete. The prairie community at Wildwood Park is home to many diverse and fascinating plants and animals. The park is a breeding site for ground-nesting birds such as rufous-sided towhees, field sparrows, and American woodcock. Wildwood Park is a beautiful natural area with many paved and unpaved trails. In the summer season, the park brings a spectacular display of prairie wildflowers and grasses. Visitors can also explore nature and see birds, deer, and other animals on the walk. The park is an excellent area for outdoor activities and group games. Visitors can walk for hours without retracing their steps and enjoy the river, woods, and prairies.
