Probably one of the best hikes I’ve been on. We did the self guided trail. I enjoyed the caves and how nice and cool it was when we were able to get in the shade. This hole is great for beginners. We did the chain trail which was challenging but not too crazy. The trail we did does not allow dogs; I believe the flatter trails allow dogs. This was a great family experience . I though it was cool that I saw some rock climbers; there are plenty of spots to do that! The man who walked us through the map was amazing! He gave us a very informative (but not overly informative) lecture which we were able to retain. The only reason I rated it a four star is because the female at the front desk wasn’t as friendly and was obviously easily annoyed by people which is funny being that she is the first person of contact for all hikers/campers.
Excellent park. If you want to learn more about the history of the area and the ancient people take an interpretive tour. It’s five dollars a person and they limit the groups to 10 people. Book early as park sells out of rv spaces.
Great place to visit right outside of El Paso, it has easy to moderate trails up the rocks or on the desert ground. On our last trip we even came across a family of wild goats
