Best for longer hikes. The big Field and house near the front is not as interesting as hiking deep into the forest, going to the overlook, spring, waterfall and Mill. Lots of up and down hill. Tails are often a bit muddy so wear shoes that can stand it. Hiking sticks can be handy, not required. Better views when the leaves are off the trees, many wildflowers in the spring, see my pics.
Nice place. When I first got there I was looking for the rest room witch is not near the parking lot. Then was off for my hike. I got a good 6 and a half mile in. There is a nice overlook of the Kentucky river. And a couple of nice water falls. The trail can be slick . I ended up on my back after slipping on a rock. But that is in part because my carelessness. And some muddy part on the trails.
Nice conservation area, short hikes, and interesting small nature center. Dogs not allowed. Tho believe it is city operated, you can join the Friends of Raven Run to help support their efforts. And nice drive there past large, old horse farms on good road.
