"Jacobson Park is a 216-acre park that features a basketball court, playground, fishing areas, open playfields, seven shelters, and a splash ground. Jacobson Park contains a reservoir used by the Lakeside Golf Course and Kentucky American Water Company. The park is excellent for relaxing, walking with pets, running, riding bicycles, paddle boating, and playing disc golf. There is a fantastic green space with a fresh atmosphere, various playground games, beautiful scenery, and many ducks in the pond. Jacobson Park has a large playground, open playfields, basketball, and volleyball courts. Jacobson Park has ample parking and is wheelchair accessible.

2026 Update: Jacobson Park playground area is fully ADA-compliant and includes inclusive play structures and rubber safety surfacing. The Park incorporates adaptive design features to ensure that kids with physical challenges can comfortably enjoy the water activities. Jacobson Park contains one of Lexington’s most popular fenced dog parks, with separate sections for large."

It's a fantastic place for a leisurely stroll, a game of frisbee, or a family day out. The playgrounds and splash pad are perfect for kids, and the well-maintained walking trails are great for a peaceful walk or jog. The park also features a dog park, making it a favorite spot for pet owners. The fishing opportunities on the lake add to the recreational options. While Jacobson Park is a wonderful destination, it can get crowded during weekends and special events, so timing your visit is key for a more peaceful experience. Overall, it's a fantastic place to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature in the heart of Lexington.

Visited this park while traveling through town to let my toddler burn off some energy. One of the nicest parks we've seen in a while. Separate play grounds for small kids and big kids. Lots of activity zones to keep little ones entertained.

We Jacobson Park! We go weekly. As, well, as celebrating birthday parties here. It's always clean and well maintained. So many great memories continue to be made here. Thanks to all who work to keep it a happy & safe place to play!.

SHILLITO PARK REVIEWS

My daughter loves coming here! Variety of play equipment that looks well maintained. It has a large seat swing with a harness type restraint for small kids or large kids with disabilities. Part is covered in a hard but mushy rubber type of material, the rest is wood chips or grass. Large walking area. There is also a pool nearby. The only thing was it seems like it takes a bit to get to the play area. There is a paved trail but you may have difficulty pushing a wheelchair up to the play area. Oh, there are decent restrooms and a large pavilion/covered picnic tables.

Great park! My kids absolutely love it here. There are so many cool things for them to do, including two different playgrounds—one for younger kids and one for older ones. They have musical toys, a cool wooden house for the kids to explore, and even a fountain. Highly recommended! There's also plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. There also is a water fountain for drinking or for filling up water bottles.

One of the most beautiful and well-maintained parks in Kentucky in my opinion! Every time I come here which is only been in the last week.

WOODLAND PARK REVIEWS

We love the playground here! It’s great for school-aged kids, and allows them to take a lot of risks. There is equipment that allows them to climb high and jump far. The playground is in different sections, so the kids will want to run back and forth; don’t come here if you are a helicopter parent, because you’ll stress yourself out. I also love the swimming pool in the summer, and we enjoy climbing some of the trees by the gazebo. There is some neat artwork near Kentucky Ave as well. The park has a skate park, baseball field, and tennis courts. There is a shelter you can use for free- it’s first come first serve, but it’s a great place for birthday parties or get togethers.

There's definitely something for everyone to do at this park very clean and comfortable and will definitely be going back and definitely recommend to other people.

Woodland Park is a great spot for kids. The playground is clean and fun. It’s a nice, family-friendly park with lots of green areas.
