GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC MEMORIAL HALL REVIEWS
A walk through history! The building itself is beautiful, from the stone work to the woodwork to the stained glass windows. The GAR was a social gathering spot for soldiers to share their experiences. Today the main floor tells their stories with displays and artefacts. Pending release of state grant funding, we were told a room will once again be set up for veteran meetings. Donations are welcome.
An excellent place to learn more about the history of the Civil War and to view actual artefacts from that time. Knowledgeable staff to answer questions and share stories of that time make it all that more special.
Beautiful exhibits. Got to meet the "Treasure of Aurora" Eric P. At the ribbon cutting ceremony. What a knowledgeable young man. 10/10 would go again.
