Waubonsie Lake Park is a beautifully maintained serene park that has lots of activities for the entire family. It has several picnic tables, an area to grill, allow rowboats and canoes out on the lake. They have a wonderful lake that connects to a small river, an outdoor shelter, and a playground for the kids.This 28-acre lake and its peninsular island make up a park within the larger Phillips Park of the city. There are benches along the path to sit if you need a break. Waubonsie Lake Park is a Serene Park with a fishing lake, biking trails, a picnic pavilion in the playground.

Oakhurst Forest Preserve is a splendid national oasis based in the town of Aurora, Illinois. The park has a 55-acre lake/marsh complex that offers exceptional fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing opportunities. It has lots of green space, walking/biking trails, and a good-sized lake for kayaking. The park has a large space for equestrian parking and riding. Visitors can also explore acres of woods and lakes, with beautiful views of Aurora and surrounding areas. Volunteers are planting native species, maintaining trails, and harvesting seeds.

Red Oak Nature Center is the ideal destination for anyone with a desire to discover more about the great outdoors. It is surrounded by more than 40 acres of lush forest and wildlife habitat. It features six hiking trails, and the nationally renowned fox river trail offers avenues of exploration. The indoor museum in the center provides a wildlife room, lots of interactive toys and displays for the kids, and live beehives. Visitors can also visit the devil's cave. Red Oak Nature Center also offers space for nature programs and events.
