WAUBONSIE LAKE PARK
Waubonsie Lake Park is a well-renowned hiking trail in Aurora. The Waubonsie Trail links Boulder Hill and the Village of Oswego via a greenway corridor within a residential community. The eastern trailhead is in Jaycee Park, which has a playground, picnic shelter, and open areas for sports practice players. The park trail has 3.2 miles. The park is a beautifully maintained serene park with lots of activities for the entire family. The park has several picnic tables, an area to grill, allows rowboats and canoes out on the lake. In addition, they have a wonderful lake that connects to a small river, an outdoor shelter, and a playground for the kids. This 28-acre lake and its peninsular island make up a park within the larger Phillips Park of the city. There are benches along the path to sit if you need a break. The trail has a serene park with a lake for fishing, plus biking trails, a playground, and a waterfront picnic pavilion.
