Sunsphere is a 266-feet-high hexagonal steel truss structure, topped with a 75-feet gold-colored glass sphere that served as the 1982 World's Fair symbol. The fourth level of the Sunsphere houses the Observation Deck and contributes a 360-degree view of the original 1982 World's Fair site downtown Knoxville, the University of Tennessee, the Tennessee River, and the Smoky Mountains. Sunsphere and the Amphitheater are the only two remaining elements of the 1982 World's Fair. Guests can also explore a timeline, gallery, memorabilia, and gift shop from the fair. Sunsphere is free to the public daily, and hours change based on the season.

The structure is important for its exterior architectural and original interior features, as well as its collection of decorative art from that period. The Ramsey family played vital roles in developing civic and cultural institutions and education. The place provides over 100 acres of fields with beautiful gardens, trees, and open areas to accommodate associations, with plenty of free parking available on the grounds. The house's wonderfully renovated Visitor Center provides the ideal indoor facility for entertaining groups of 5 to 90. Blount Mansion was the home of the only territorial governor of the Southwest Territory, William Blount. The Mansion is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving the Blount Mansion and inspiring an appreciation for national, state, and local history through the place and the lives of those who lived and worked there. The hall was the main room for family enterprises and guests, and the parlor was a private area for the family. The hall has over 100k visitors and has held over 100 events over the years. Blount Mansion offers free tours to children aged 6 through 17 guided by an adult on the first Tuesday of each month (ages five and under are always free).
