“Florence Ranch Homestead was built by David Walker Florence in 1871. The late 19th century rural Texas architecture's original structure is considered a fine example of its main chimney, across the back a story and a half clapboard home with shed rooms available and a gallery across the front. In the Museum, family, friends, and locals help construct the home. The house underwent expansion during the 1890s when the Florence Homestead encompassed an area of 730 acres. The farmstead remains a famous educational museum for children and adults and is a beautiful place to learn about the city of Mequite's history. Free Admission For Children 3 and Under.”
