3 Best Places To See in Mesquite, TX

What an incredible evening at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo! We were there celebrating a birthday, and from start to finish, it was an outstanding experience. The facility has undergone some beautiful updates, and the newly renovated suites are absolutely fantastic. Everything felt fresh, comfortable, and welcoming. The rodeo itself was action-packed, with great stock, talented competitors, and entertainment that kept moving at a perfect pace. There was never a dull moment. One of the things we loved most was seeing such a diverse crowd—families, visitors from different countries who were in town for FIFA events, and longtime rodeo fans all enjoying the experience together. The food was phenomenal, the staff was friendly and attentive, and you can tell this venue truly values both its guests and its competitors. The livestock was impressive, the atmosphere was electric, and the concert afterward was the perfect way to end the night. If you’re looking for a true Texas experience that is family-friendly, well-organized, and a whole lot of fun, the Mesquite Championship Rodeo is a must-visit. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!.

Caveat - I'm not Texan or American, so if you're a Texan, perhaps skip my review (it's more for tourists). We had a nice time. The bbq dinner buffet we paid extra for was nice. We arrived at 5:30pm and the food was just starting to be served. Good time to arrive for a table, but turns into a long night because the rodeo goes till 10pm. Buffet: pork ribs, brisket, chicken, turkey, sausage, shredded pork, bread, macaroni and cheese (not great), coleslaw, corn, likely more. Dessert was banana pudding. Great! The rodeo definitely was not a mixed crowd like the Stockyards Rodeo...a little nerve-wracking, we definitelyfelt out of place. We bought the best seats and they were very uncomfortable (our biggest complaint). And there were longer pauses between events and riders - which explains taking 2.5hrs compared with 1.5hrs for the Stockyards Rodeo. Bulls were definitely bigger at Mesquite Rodeo than at Stockyards (could have been a fluke). All in all, a nice evening, but for a tourist, just go to the Stockyards Rodeo.

How to park and where need more direction and signage. Which way to come into the venue is confusing too, once you have parked. Once your inside, great crowd, all seats are metal bench like,simple, personal cushions are allowed. Please come out so they can afford to upgrade the audio system for this arena.. please!!! Yall come and Support!!!.
