" Mesquite Golf Club is a municipal course owned and operated by the City of Mesquite. Ronnie Travis is the Manager of the golf course. The golf course is located in the Duck Creek floodplain, which was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Mesquite Golf Club was initially opened as a 9-hole course, and it expanded to 154 acres and 18 holes two years later. The course expanded from 6,100 yards to 6,980 and included the addition of Champion Bermuda greens and 20 new bunkers. The course reopened in 2014 and was named Course of the Year by the Texas Turfgrass Association. They also offer membership options such as individual, senior, and family memberships. Their instructional golf program teaches the basics of golf in partnership with The First Tee of Greater Dallas. The Mesquite Golf Club's snack bar offers pre-packaged food, hot dogs, and drinks.

The course sits on land donated by the Tenison family, with the original layout designed in 1924 by Ralph Plummer. Tenison Park initially opened with the Glen course and expanded to include the Highlands course later. The facility covers layouts ranging from 6,607 to 7,078 yards and features upscale Tif-eagle greens and 32 sand bunkers. The property hosted the 1968 USGA Public Links Championship and ranks among the best city golf facilities. They offer practice options like a forty-one station driving range and putting greens. Their instructional golf program teaches players under PGA professionals. The Tenison Café offers breakfast, lunch, and daily drinks.”

Excellent course, very good value for such cheap greenfee. Very fast & well maintained greens. Overall a challenging course. One +200 yard par 3 for example is just 9/18 handicap. And the toughest hole long par 5 proved to be just that if you look at my scorecard. Bring you A chipping and putting game here, folks! Starter Jerry was extremely friendly and rest of the staff too. Definitely worth the visit!.

The pace of play was pretty slow, but the immaculate conditions of the greens made up for it. For $41, it was a great deal and I’m not sure you can get these types of green conditions at this price in DFW. We were able to finish with a 4:40 PM tee time.

This course is in great condition. Fairways are really nice and greens are very well maintained. Great municipal course !.

Highlands is well above Glen definitely worth it for the extra cost. Was a bit busy on Highlands so some waiting even while walking with 4 but still a great time and well maintained course. Definitely one of the best public courses in Dallas.

Great course(s), one of the oldest in Dallas. The Highlands is PGA level and the Glen is probably one of the best public courses for the money in the Metroplex.

Have Always had a good experience at this location, it is a very fun course !.

GOLF CLUBS AT THE TRIBUTE REVIEWS

Beautiful course with every hole built to replicate famous holes throughout Scotland. Design and play is traditional links which is fitting given the windy pensinsula conditions and deep natural grasses outlining the fairways. Don't be fooled by the visually open look of the links course as wind, demanding greens, and undulating fairways add plenty of challenges. The course is well maintained and carts have built in scoring and range finding. Clubhouse is very nice with an affordable pub inside plus outdoor seating in the back providing great views of the course.

Great experience here! My friends and I played the tribute course for the first time here and it was amazing. Great fairways and conditions and greens rolled fast and true. The carts were new and clean stocked with water. Staff was nice and helpful and food was decent. We will definitely be back to try the old American course.

Came to this course for the first time on a golf trip. The staff were great and the facilities were even better. The course is absolutely gorgeous and they book tee times in 10 minute increments which keeps the pace.
