Stamford Harbor Ledge Lighthouse is a perfect viewing platform for these breathtaking settings is the walkway surrounding the lantern space atop the Lighthouse. The LighthouseLighthouse was established in 1882. The light is about 60 feet tall and has seven levels inside. Whether warning of danger or marking the safe passage into a harbor, lighthouses are beacons of safety and security. Lighthouses can also be discovered in the remote extremes of the country, where dusk or dawn over a large body of water can be enjoyed in complete solitude. The lighthouses also appeal to their nostalgic and artistic senses as they are some of the most historic structures in the United States, and the architectural detail found in many of them is amazing.

Hoyt-Barnum House is a Cape Cod cottage-style house built around 1699 and is the oldest extant House in Stamford. The Hoyt Barnum House is suggestive of one of the Second American Building Period, post-1675. Their tastes and sense of relation to England were beginning to change, and they were becoming more independent. The people who constructed this House were the kids or grandchildren of the founders of Stamford. They adopted English architectural techniques in a more American mode. In the building of the House, the central chimney was built up to the level of the first floor. The framing was done on the ground, and the timbers that joined together were marked with matching numerals.
