3 Best Landmarks in Vancouver, WA

I can't believe we have the same vancouver. It is an awesome, modern, free museum of early flight with several biplanes and a terrific film. I thought I would only watch the beginning of the film, imagining that it would begin to lose my interest as it approached modern times, but it was nothing like that, and I heartily recommend spending 45 plus minutes watching the whole thing. I also suggest reading the plaque on the monument to the Soviet polar flight and the signboards about the namesake of this field outside. I loved it here and I plan to return to spend more time studying the planes inside and watching planes take off and land outside.

Fun and FREE spot to go with kids. It’s not too big, but they have a kids area with a model plane you can sit in, a little air tunnel where you can float parachutes and coloring pages. Then there’s a big warehouse style area with lots of cool old planes to look it. My kids enjoyed watching videos in the movie room. Right across the street is an awesome playground and big open field! A fun outing.

If you are visiting Fort Vancouver, the whole site is worth visiting, including the visitor center and Pearson Air Museum. The air museum is quite small, but has some lovely planes and a great deal of information on historical escapades. I would definitely recommend walking (or driving) over here from Fort Vancouver. Walking over, you also get a good view of Pearson airfield.

A few houses down from the Grant House where the Willful Bistro Cafe restaurant is located is the Marshall House where Army General George C. Marshall resided and it's the only house on the district that was designed by an actual architect instead of normal Army standard designs. This house does tours Wednesday-Friday 10-2. They also conduct similar tours at the Providence Academy on the other side of the I-5 freeway from Fort Vancouver which used to be a church and school in the mid-1850's.

The Marshall House was the perfect choice for our event. The space is beautiful, cozy, and intimate - ideal for social mingling. The staff is extremely professional and responsive. Communication throughout the planning and execution of the event was superb. I could not be happier that we chose the Marshall House and The Historic Trust for our event. I highly recommend this venue and will happily use it again in the future as occasion arises.

I have walked by this building my entire life wondering when I would get to work on it. Finally the historic trust called for a chimney inspection. We took care of this beautiful work of art with craftsmanship and attention to detail. It's such a privilege to work of meaningful architecture.
