This is really is a great park in down town Vancouver. The city has done a great job in the last decade to clean it up and make it a destination for families, events and our very own Farmer's Market. Still, it's a public park and there are plenty of transients that spend large portions of their day there. Almost everyone I've met has been friendly and non-threatening...often a pleasure to talk to, so don't let that put you off about the park.If you're looking for a destination during the weekend

A great place for big and small picnics. Lots of space for kids to run and grown ups to play games. The shelters are well placed but do wish there was an off leash area. My dogs like the trails and beach. When there are few people I let them jump in the river. Large park with sand beaches. Clean restrooms. Picnic tables. A good place to launch canoes and kayaks. lots of open fields for soccer. Birding also good on trails walking away from the main area of a park.

Beautiful, forested park with a long, winding walking trail, softball field, play structures, and a pond for swimming. There's lots of parking and clean bathrooms. Park feels safe. Very nice walking trail. I've seen lots of different animals. Nice all times of the year. Clean.
