Must see historic plantation in North Durham. There are several parts to this site. You can feel the age of this place and there are still old buildings standing (built by slaves). There is also a cemetery off of a short trail. The only con is that you need to go with a scheduled tour to see the inside of some buildings.
I loved my visit to the Historic site, such beautiful land. I am definitely coming back for a guided tour. The employees at the visitors center were attentive and insightful.
Amazing historical site. This is the first platantion I've been to that didn't romanticize the place or time period. Bill did a fantastic job of telling the stories that are often omitted- the lives, struggles, and resistance of those enslaved.
