The venue has been Durham's primary nightclub for dance parties, bands, music, basic chilling, and collaborative or creative events for over ten years. The Pinhook hosts Dead Prez, The Mountain Goats, Sylvan Esso, The Blow, EMA, Big Freedia, Titus Andronicus, Hiss Golden Messenger, Jens Lekman, Le1f, and more. The venue is a secure place for LGBTQ folks, POC groups, punks, cyclists, trivia nerds, lawyers, and almost everyone else. Pinhook's doors are open every day, doing something different.
