What a neat little museum. It's located in the Civic Center Mall, and right across from the spiral staircase. Once you come in, it's basically one small room to the side with a display of what a classroom would look like back then with a video playing. From there, you can walk in a circular path. There's interpretive signs and artifacts hung on both walls, and they have other historical displays so you can see what life was like at the time. While you could walk through everything in just 5 minutes, there was so much to read and see- it took me about 45 minutes to finish perusing. The volunteer docents there were very welcoming. On the way out, there is a cute gift shop to stop by.
Interesting and informative and free! The staff members were very very nice and helpful. I would recommend it if you're walking round in old Town scottsdale, there was some really cool before and after pics of scottsdale as well as the city's origin story. I had a fun visit ! The building used to be a schoolhouse and then it was a library!
Loved it! The history of Scottsdale was amazing! I especially loved the little classroom and the old kitchen. The staff was super courteous and helpful! It is free but make sure to leave a donation!
