When I visit a new city, I like to visit museums that are unique to the city and will teach me something about the city. Whether you’re a Columbus resident or a visitor, Thurber House (conveniently located close to the Columbus Museum of Art, which is also worth a visit) will teach you something new about this great city and one of its most famous born-and-raised celebrities, writer James Thurber. Located in a house built in 1873 (a house that Thurber and his family lived in for five years), Thurber House is full of history. Plus, you’ll see some of Thurber’s original art and more fun memorabilia! It’s an informative way to spend an hour.
Went here first floor for a group discussion meeting. The room was nice and spacious it could hold 50 plus easily and comfortably standing or sitting in rows. We did not even use all the seats. Lights were bright, there was a screen for uploading or projecting. Very convenient not far from Columbus State University, CCAD, or downtown. All around nice place.
We were just there and Kevlyn was amazing!! They were so informative and answered all of our questions. The woodwork and furnishings are absolutely spectacular and the history is just awesome! We will be back :)
