3 Best Mexican Restaurants in St Petersburg, FL

We went to Red Mesa tonight for dinner and had an excellent meal. We had the Dip Trio, guacamole, white queso, and pico with chips, for our appetizer. The guacamole is probably the best I've ever had. Most places don't have enough lime in their guac. Theirs is perfect. For our entrees we had the filet mignon skewers with chipotle cream sauce and mofongo, and the brisket Del Rey burrito. The filet with cream sauce was tender and flavorful. The mofongo was a special treat in that it was made with sweet plantains instead of green plantains. We've not had mofongo made this way before, and it was excellent. Although the Del Rey burrito doesn't sound like a particularly special choice, it was excellent. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the complement of sauces and peppers and other ingredients was perfect. We didn't have room for dessert, so that will have to be an experience for next time.

A friend and I had dinner here for the first time tonight. When we arrived, there were a few families already leaving. We only waited about a minute or so to be seated. The staff was really nice and friendly. There was a nice drink menu as well as daily specials. They had a good menu and was also willing to make substitutions. The drinks were amazing. The food was really good. Serving size was great. And the taste was exceptional. This will not be our last time. I can't wait to go back to try the enchiladas. My friend ordered.

First time and the food was delicious! We had a party of 8 and service was great. Everyone enjoyed their food. Will go back for sure!!.

The horchata is spot on with the perfect balance of cinnamon! I also got the vegetarian combo with a veggie taco, spinach enchilada, and avocado tostada. It was literally so delicious and filling that I could eat the meal in one sitting. My sides were black beans and salad. 10/10 I highly recommend you give it a try.

Food was good and the restaurant was clean. Two important things I look for. The kitchen was short handed but the waiter was good about keeping drinks full and multicolored chips were warm. I love their salsa not too spicy and chunky with fresh tomato and onion. My husband and I ordered the 25A combo: tostada, taco, and enchilada.

Nice place for a bite. Good food, excellent service. Visited on a busy evening, sat at a booth right away. Took the server a bit longer than expected ( normal) to get our drink orders but was very attentive throughout our time there. Love the decor.
