"Fremont Mission Music Institute provides music lessons for all ages and levels, from kids to adults. They are motivated by a desire to teach authentic musical styles to their community and to people across the wider Bay Area. Fremont Mission Music Institute holds two recitals per year in the summer and winter. Their recitals usually take place at the Trianon Theatre in San Jose and the First Chinese United Methodist Church. They continue to offer preparations for the Certificate of Merit, ABRSM exam, and various competitions. The academy also provides training for the Royal Schools of Music exams and certified exams. The music school offers discount rates for August and September registration. Fremont Mission Music Institute offers free trial lessons.

Our vocal teacher, guitar teacher, and piano teacher are great. Our children have improved a lot under their guidance. I do have issues with how recitals were managed; however, I'm confident that FMMI will quickly correct the issue in the future. The following was my open letter to FMMI regarding an incident during the recital on 12/19/15: "Dear FMMI, We attended more than 14 FMMI recitals over the last several years with our two children. We always loved the opportunity for them to be on stage. I have noticed, however, that in the last few recitals, there's been an increasing number of irresponsible and disrespectful parents allowing their children to roam freely up and down the aisle DURING the performance. Performers were noticeably distracted and subsequently made unnecessary mistakes. I could go on and on including the terrible incident that happened on 12/19/15 during the 5:30pm recital when one boy laughed out loud while two other girls were allowed to roam free along the aisle. I STRONGLY suggest that FMMI sets some ground rules at the beginning and request parents to go outside of the room if their children are misbehaving. This announcement at the beginning of each recital MUST be made at the same time you ask to have mobile phones turned off.

We like FMMC. Very friendly staff and qualified instructors. My son started at 5 years old last year with piano and he is well on his way reading basic music.

I have been learning here for over 10 years and have basically grown up with this place. Thanks, FMMI for the music and the memories.

I am very lucky to find teacher Ray Lin at their Fremont school. If you are a new learner with a dedicated long-term goal and you're very particular about your learning plan, he's definitely an ideal teacher. He has an impressive profile and keen senses of student's objectives in learning music as a whole, and he can design highly customized pedagogy for you. The fact he's versatile in playing plenty of musical instruments is also a plus in his teaching since he has the tools and flexibility to help student visualize musical knowledge in different ways. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been going to Melody Academy for piano lessons for two years now, and we are very pleased with our experience there. Her teacher, Ms. Shirley, is very kind and good at working with children. We have had great experience with her in both a group lesson setting and private lessons. The office manager is friendly and accessible to communicate with when needed. Very professional overall.

Outstanding teachers! Great staff! I was a little hesitant when I enrolled my kid at Melody Academy, but it turned out to be an excellent decision. My kid loves the class and the teacher and always looking forward to the class.

I'm pretty close to this place, since music is one of my passions. It's been around even before I was born, and my teacher's as well. It's what introduced me to learning guitar and later drumming, and the people there are chill enough to ask any question. Or just talk, I guess. Either way, definitely recommend coming if you need lessons or equipment.

Great place to buy music or instruments. They also have private lessons. My sons had lessons each week. One learned drums and the other son learned piano.

A great place to purchase and Learn music. Knowledgeable and friendly staff willing to help pick right instrument in right price range. They rent out the instruments on monthly basis with option to buy later.
