JOEL R. SAPER, MD - MICHIGAN HEADACHE & NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE REVIEWS
MHNI is truly one of the Best Migraine facilities in the United States. I've been a patient since Jan 2007. I'm Blessed to have the Best Psychologist in his field Alvin Lake. He's a kind, professional, and very knowledgeable Behavioral Psychologist. I'd be lost without Him. Dr. Sapier and All the Doctors, Nurses, Labs, and entire Staff are kind, professional, and Caring. There are so many different kinds of Migraines and Head Pain, it's astonishing once you learn more. My Neurologist Dr. Kariyanna has been working with me to find relief from my Chronic Severe Migraines. It's a process because everyone has different medication reactions. They Do Not stop and write you off, it takes patience, tests, and different medications. His knowledge of medication interactions is outstanding. Having been a patient in the Pain Unit and have quite a few tests to eliminate possible causes. When I stayed I saw All the Doctors and Nurses who are there to Help with your Care. There are Clinical Trials that you can volunteer for, these Folks are trying to lessen your Pain, they've helped hundreds of thousands of people be able to live normal productive lives.
I was very impressed with the information given about each of my medications that I was going to be on when I first arrived. Andrea did an excellent job explaining the basic science to each medication, and why they would be helpful for my headaches. When I first arrived, some of my regular medications were not available, so the clinical staff worked very hard at getting them ordered, so there would not be any lapse in my medication administration. This entire inpatient experience has been life changing for me, and I am so very appreciative of the kind care, supportive staff, and competent clinicians! Thank you so, so much!
Everything from Dr Saper and the entire staff was extremely professional and well thought out for my best benefit. They tried many new medicines and approaches, moist do which were very successful. I came into the practice averaging a 3-5 headache pain around the clock and am leaving with an average of 0-2. Great progress and kudos to the entire staff, including doctors, nurses and everyone in the hospital!
